The National Centre for Cell Sciences (NCCS) was founded as the National Fund for Tissue Culture March 11, 1986 with the mandate of basic research education and training, and as a national repository of cell lines / hybridomas etc. Downtown is located in the middle of academically enriched environment of the campus of Pune University, Pune.
