NIHFW was established on March 9, 1977 by the merger of the National Institute of Health Administration and Education (INAH) and National Family Planning Institute (NIFPO). FIAPSM, FISCD NIHFW FIPHA and is currently headed by Prof. Deoki Nandan, Director of the Institute. He previously worked as Director, Dean and Director of one of the oldest medical schools in the country, SN Medical College, Agra. He is known for its acumenship, what the reforms in the health sector and hospitals. He is a recognized expert in public health and is known for its contribution to national and international level.
