Research on oil palm under irrigated conditions is practically a fresh start and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research established the National Center for Research in Pedavegi oil palm in West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh on 19 February 1995. In February 2009 the institute has been updated in the Research Division of Oil Palm (DOPR) to address site-specific programs throughout the country.
