ITBP was conceived on October 24, 1962. Today ITBP is deployed in the border protection Duties Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh's Diphu covers 3,488 km border between India and China and manning border posts at altitudes ranging from 9,000 to 18,500 in the western, Middle East and the eastern sector of the India-China Border.
