Electricity Regulatory Commission of Bihar has been established by the Government of Bihar, under Article 17 of the Commissions Act of 1998, See Power Bihar Government Notice no. 1284 dated April 15, 2002. The Electricity Regulatory Commissions Act 1998, together with the Indian Electricity Act 1910 and the Electricity (Supply), 1948 was repealed by section 185 of the Electricity Act, 2003.
